?Abstract? Tourism of Xinjiang started in the early 1980s, Xinjiang province is one of the latest batch provinces to open to the outside world. Since reforming and opening, Xinjiang significantly improved tourism infrastructure, tourism and service quality continuously improved, tourism products become more abundant, tourism has played an important role in promoting economic growth, province?s opening up and development of related industries.With the rapid development of Xinjiang tourism industry, tourism industry has increasingly requirements to tourism personnel structure and personnel quality. The current model of tourism higher education in Xinjiang has been far from the needs of the tourism industry. It also can not meet the needs of the tourism industry. The knowledge structure of a large number of graduates is irrational, the theoretical basis is not solid, practical experiences and professional skills are shortage. Enterprises in the market can not find the talent they want, graduates in the market can?t find ideal job. Tourism personnel training has far behind market lags demand, which had aroused our reflection on various aspects of tourism higher education. Therefore, how in the existing educational models to explore and discover a new and effective education model which based on the theory, market demand-oriented, combining teaching and practice is an issue of a vast number of tourism educators exploring.Based on the higher education of Xinjiang tourism, the research content is divided into five parts:The first part is introduction. on the analysis of the research background, this paper elaborates the theoretical research and practical significance and meaning of subject research contents and methods, and classified the related research achievements.The second part is the connotation of tourism higher education. Higher education mainly includes travel the concept, nature, purpose and mission of higher education levels and the training goal of tourism.The third part is the analysis of the status of Xinjiang tourism higher education. Based on the questionnaire of teachers and students in part relevant tourism professional in Xinjiang, in-depth knows the higher education of Xinjiang in tourism professional setting, curriculum and textbooks, teaching construction and teaching practice, etc.The fourth part is the analysis of problems which tourism higher education of Xinjiang has. This part is on the basis of the third part, comprehensive analysis and discusses the Xinjiang tourism education in higher colleges, travel training target, professional setting, the curriculum teaching and the problems existing in the construction and the causes of the problems.The fifth part is countermeasures and suggestions of higher education development to Xinjiang tourism. Reference the existing research results, and connect Xinjiang tourism development needs and development foreground, Xinjiang should strengthen government macro-control, reform mode of running, training goal, reform the teaching mode and strengthen the construction of the teaching staff in higher education aspects of tourism. Thus, provide certain reference theory for the reform and development of tourism higher education.
