Submissions for films will be accepted April 1 ? July 1, 2012 through Without A Box. This year there is not a submission fee The Show Me Justice Film Festival strives to raise awareness about social injustice. Filmmakers from around the world are encouraged to submit feature films, and short animated, experimental, narrative, and documentary films that put a face on the many shades of injustice. The films selected for screening will compete for prizes based on their artistic competence, creativity, and exploration of the festival theme.

Kansas International Film Festival Late deadline for submission is 4/16 12 Annual October 05, 2012 to October 11, 2012 The IFC theme this year will be Satire?PSAs, Infomercials, Mockumentaries?.5-6 minutes. Need 90 minutes worth of material. Proposed schedule due dates: Submission date to IFC: 9/7/2012 Turn material over to KIFF: 9/21/2012 IFC is also hosting a party on the 10th of October!

Each year our Film Festival serves as an outlet for creative minds to show others their hard work and dedication to their passions. The Lawrence Arts Center will host The Free State Film Festival, a brand-new film festival scheduled for May 11-13. ONE NIGHT STAND WILL BE HELD ON SATURDAY 6/2/2012

One Night Stand issues one challenge, to write, shoot, and edit a short film in 10 hours. Three items are drawn: a theme, an object, and a line of dialogue. All three elements must be used in the project. Shoot in 16:9, burn to a dvd-standard for now? $30 entry fee per team Captain will receive 2 tickets to the screening

Meet at 830am for enrollment and drawing 930am official start time for production 730pm completed project is due 8pm screening Judged event?1st, 2nd, 3rd Place and Audience Choice. Also a Captain?s Award which is awarded by the other Captain?s to the best Captain.

Follow-up from tour at Outpost in Lenexa -They would like to partner up on films but really only with more quality and experienced film makers

Grant applications are now being taken for the Robert Altman Emerging Filmmakers Fund.

GRANT INFORMATION Kauffman?s FastTrac program has graciously provided the $500 program fee for each of the selected grant recipients.

PURPOSE The goal of these grants is to give filmmakers the expert business knowledge they need to help turn their craft into a business, turn an existing project into a more fruitful venture or both. If you do apply for a grant, please have a business or project idea ready to bring to the classes.

The classes will be held in 5, full-day sessions from 9AM to 5PM on consecutive Fridays starting July 13, 2012 and ending August 10, 2012.

The Beginner class will be aimed towards actors that have had some to no experience with a prompter. The class will cover the basic skills needed to use a prompter, the ABC?s of acting with a Teleprompter and actors will get the chance to work on Commercial copy as well as Non Broadcast Spokesperson copy. The actors will also receive playback time to review their work.

The Intermediate/Advanced workshop will cover more of the acting and technique to working with a Teleprompter. This workshop will cover lengthier Non Broadcast scripts and go over Spokesperson types of scripts. Actors will also have the opportunity to do some cold and some change ups with the material.
